You're Invited to the Summer Symphonic Pops!
Join us August 16, 2008, under the Big Tent at Dumas Bay Centre for a wonderful summer evening of symphony pops, with our special guest artist Susan Egan, acclaimed Broadway star, film and television actress, and singer. The concert features light classics, orchestra music from Broadway and Hollywood, and a special selection of pop vocals from the Four Freshmen accompanied by the Federal Way Symphony Pops Orchestra.

There will be reserved cafe seating for tables of four in the Big Tent, complimentary hor d'oeuvres, and no-host bar and beverages. Seating is limited, so get your tickets soon! Tickets are available starting at $50. (Puget Sound view of the Olympic Mountain range is complimentary!)

Susan Egan
Susan EganSusan Egan has traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry, making powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music.

She was last seen on Broadway in the title role of Thoroughly Modern Millie; she won critical acclaim as Broadway’s (longest-running) “Sally Bowles” in Cabaret; originated the starring roles in Triumph of Love and State Fair; and most notably, received both Tony Award® and Drama Desk® nominations for “Best Actress” as Broadway’s original ‘Belle’ in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Among her regional credits, Egan starred alongside Carol Burnett in Sondheim’s Putting It Together at the Mark Taper Forum, Tommy Tune in the national tour of Bye, Bye Birdie, and reprised her role of Belle for the Los Angeles premiere of Beauty and the Beast. She has also performed in solo concerts all across the country and sung with over thirty symphony orchestras with appearances at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and multiple engagements at the Hollywood Bowl.

Susan’s film credits include 13 Going on 30, Gotta Kick It Up for the Disney Channel, and countless independent films such as: Meet Market (Sarasota Film Festival, 2004), Death and Texas (Seattle Film Festival and Slamdance Film Festival, 2004), The Almost Guys (HBO Comedy Festival, 2004), The Disappearing Girl Trick, Falling. In Love, Extreme Close Up, and Man of the Century (Audience Award, Slamdance).

In animation, Egan gave the sultry voice to ‘Meg’ in Disney's Hercules, sang the role of Angel in Lady and the Tramp II, and translated two Japanese blockbusters into English for famed animation director Hayao Miyazaki: 'Gina' in Porco Rosso, and ‘Lin’ in Spirited Away, which won the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

On television, Egan spent two seasons on the WB’s Nikki, and has guest-starred on NUMB3RS, NYPD Blue, Arliss, Party of Five, Drew Carey, Almost Perfect, Partners, All My Children, Loving, and Great Performances: Rodgers and Hart, as well as movies of the week and specials for ABC, CBS, and the Disney Channel.

Egan has over 40 recording credits from Broadway cast albums to film soundtracks, including her five critically praised solo CDs: All That and More, So Far, Winter Tracks, Coffee House, which won a Vocalist of the Year Award 2005 from TalkinBroadway.com, and her latest 2-disc concert album Susan Egan LIVE.

Egan is a Southern California native and attended the Orange County High School of the Arts and UCLA, where she received a Carol Burnett Award in Musical Theatre. In 2002-2003, she devoted a year away from her career to assume the position of interim Artistic Director of the Orange County High School of the Arts. She now spends her time with a full calendar of concerts and makes her home in Los Angeles with her husband, Robert, and daughter, Nina.
